Generation is site-specific sound interactive installation and performance. It is a large scale interactive instrument. Each space has its own resonant frequency depending on size, location, contents of the space, etc, like how everyone has a different voice. The artist wanted to listen to what the space is saying and deliver the song to the public through audio-digital technology. The artist found unique resonant frequencies of the gallery space and translated those into pitch so vocalists could sing along. Each touch interactive wire has a different recorded voice and is located in the space based on both sonic spots and dowsing spots that were found in the gallery. The choreographer composed the sound using her body in the installation.
