Cage
Touch Interactive Painting, AR
Cage is a sound & touch interactive painting so it is highly encouraged to touch the painting.
I have been thinking about difference between noise and music for a long time and the idea of this work is an extension to my previous work 'Noise Orchestra' that the way we perceive sound is very psychologically affected. Also, I was inspired a lot by John Cage.
I partially modified and edited some parts from the book John Cage ’Silence’ and translated that script into both visual and sound by using international Morse code. I made a graphic score with Morse code which is a translation of the script and screen printed with conductive paint. For the sounds, I put two different sounds in the painting, one is a musical sound with different frequencies of Morse code from the script which is the default sound of the painting and the other one is just using one single frequency (440Hz) Morse code sound. So whenever the audience touches the painting, they can also hear 440Hz sound.
In addition, you can see with Artivive AR app for the English version of the script.
